MACKINAW CITY, MICHIGAN
LABOR DAY--1974

The show arrived late Sunday afternoon.

Circus vehicles show up better in color than in a black and white Polaroid print. Here we see more equipment and the ticket wagon. BARNES AND DAILY played Mackinaw City, Michigan on Labor Day, 1974. Although some 20,000 people were in the area that day to walk the Mackinac Bridge, it was not a good time for a Circus to hit town. The Bridge walking types were not in the mood to stick around and watch a Circus performance. Once they'd completed their 5 mile trek across one of the world's largest bridges, and had checked all over town looking for possible prizes in the store windows, they hopped into their cars and headed back downstate so that the kids could start school the next day.
